In regards to Nirvana, I do see your point but I liked a lot of their songs - although maybe the proof is in the pudding as I rarely ever listen to them now. Then I started listening to offspring, Blink and Jimmy Eat World (I was still very young ) and within a year I was loving Incubus and RATM and I had finally settled on something I could connect with and by that time Britpop had died (thank god). I tried to listen to Stereophonics and listened to the word gets around album but everything else wasn't doing much for me. To be fair I was only young and only really got my own sense of what music I liked in the late 90's so maybe missed a bit of it, but all my friends were listening to Oasis and Blur and I wasn't feeling it at all.

I have heard a few Supergrass tunes and they have done nothing for me, but other people have told me that they are a respected band so I am willing to bow out on that one. I liked Nirvana, but what were they doing that Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, Killing Joke, or King Crimson hadn't done? I give you the excellent Supergrass - granted, they weren't doing much that The Kinks hadn't done, but they were a tremendous pop outfit!
